Description

The Maria Santisima, a Spanish ship, foundered and sunk off the rocky coast of Cornwall. The only survivor was a baby boy who was found wrapped in seaweed with a gold ring on his left thumb. He was found by Mistress Rachel Hornisyde, the wife of Jacob Hornisyde, a fisherman and the master of The Heavenly Home, a lugger. But a witch by name of Widow Pengulfy was interested in the boy, and watched as he grew strong and sturdy, and they named him Billy Barnicoat.
