Compositeur né en Pologne et établi à Paris, Alexandre Tansman (1897-1986) se situe au croisement des cultures polonaise et française. A partir de 1919, il fut totalement immergé dans la vie musicale internationale, entretenant des relations privilégiées avec les plus importantes personnalités musicales d'alors. Il fit partie, dans les années 30, de "l'Ecole de Paris".
