Description
This is an anthology of English poetry largely from the 1980's and based mainly on the retrospective features in each issue of the |Poet's Voice Magazine, edited from Bath by Fred Beake. These retrispectives were in effect mini selected poems by the poets Bill Griffiths, Edward Boaden Thomas, Brian Merrikin Hill, Jenny Johnson, Barry MacSweeney, William Oxley. There are also long sequences by Bob Cobbing ,Wendy Mulford. Alan Halsey ,and Alison Bielski and shorter selections from Jon Silkin, Edwin Morgan, John Heath Stubbs, C.H. Sisson, Charles Hobday, Donald Ward, Jasper Rootham and Penelope Shuttle etc. This book remains unusual among the anthologies of the period for covering both the Romantic and Avante-garde directions of the period.
