Description

Elsie's breaking hearts, as usual, but it isn't her fault that she's so beautiful and sweet that every young man falls in love with her. In this episode of the Elsie Dinsmore series, Elsie marries Edward Travilla, her father's friend who has been her champion since childhood. The family then travels to Europe, and they stay there for the duration of the American Civil War which breaks out while they are there. The story includes the expected discourse on Christianity and patriotism, as well as a good deal of discussion about the events and conditions surrounding the war.
