[Letter to] My dear sir

Description

May reassures Estlin about the previously sent locks of hair of Raja Rammohun Roy and supposes that the hair "will find ready purchasers" at the Anti-Slavery Fair in Boston. He mentions having seen some letters from Bristol published in the "Anti-Slavery Standard" and explains that letters about anti-slavery matters are frequently published in abolition papers and hopes that the authors of said letters will not object. May then describes the items sent from Bristol for sale at the Anti-Slavery Fair and acknowledges receipt of various letters and pamphlets. He explains at length the causes of the delay for the American response to the English Unitarian Address on Slavery. The reply was not wholly approved and the Committee failed to confer properly on amendments. May also discusses the case of John T. Sargent, a Unitarian minister who was forced to resign from the ministry by the Fraternity of Churches for exchanging pulpits with Theodore Parker.
