Description
Bislang ist kaum bekannt, dass Kirchner 1905 nicht nur die berühmte Künstlergruppe 'Brücke' mitbegründete, sondern auch als diplomierter Architekt in Dresden abschloss. Die Architekturzeichnungen des jungen Kirchner aus den Jahren 1901 bis 1905 sind geprägt von Jugendstil, Reformbewegung und früher Moderne. Die Entwürfe aus Kirchners Studienzeit in Dresden und München reichen von aufwendigen Innenraumgestaltungen mitsamt Möbeln, Lampen und Wandornamenten über Wohnhausprojekte, Malerateliers und Museumsplanungen bis hin zu seiner Diplomarbeit mit dem Entwurf einer kompletten Friedhofsanlage. Exhibition: Museum Künstlerkolonie, Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt (2.10.2011-8.1.2012).
