Description
Unlike most exhibition catalogues, this one is a bit different. Nash created sculptures for this exhibition at Warwick University's Mead Gallery using trees felled - as part of good conservation management - at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust nature reserves, including nearby Tocil Wood. As well as documenting the creative process and illustrating the works, an insight into their wider context is given. The catalogue includes two monographs, one by countryside historian and ancient woodland expert Dr Oliver Rackham and one by the Wildlife Trust's Neil Wyatt. Was this exhibition the key starting point for Nash's ever increasing links between his work and the actual source of his raw materials?
