Description
Fotografie war das bevorzugte Medium des Reichsministers R. Walther Darré, um seine Blut-und-Boden-Ideologie zu illustrieren und zu verbreiten. Als Protagonisten, die er vor der Kamera inszenieren liess, traten athletische Jugendliche aus der Bauernschaft auf, die eigens in der Reichsschule Burg Neuhaus ausgebildet wurden. Auf ihre Körper projizierte er seine utopischen Vorstellungen der "Nordischen Rasse" und der Bauern als genetischer Zukunft Deutschlands. In seinem Dienst stand die Wiener Fotografin Anna Koppitz, Witwe des renommierten Lichtbildners Rudolf Koppitz. Ihre Aufnahmen orientierten sich zum einen an den kunstvollen Körperstudien ihres Mannes und zum anderen an aktueller Sportfotografie im Stile Leni Riefenstahls: eine hochbrisante Mischung, die sich ideal für Propagandazwecke eignete.
