Description
The preface of J. Jousse's book states the purpose: "This elementary book is written with the intention of assisting teachers, lightening their labor, and saving their time, which should be directed to the more important part of the science." It is 108 pages long, written in the form of a question and answer series, and covers notes, the staff and their relation to the keyboard, flats/sharps, scales, key/modes, time, embellishments, along with other aspects of the keyboard. It has quite a bit of information and would be useful as a quick answer guide for the average reader. Overall, it is well-written and very easy to read.
