When the book is written, almost a hundred years have passed since Gothenburg's 300th anniversary and the guide focuses on this very period: from 1921 until the upcoming 400th anniversary. Much has changed in a hundred years, but much remains. The guide is laid out with 20 entrances to the city's places and houses. The entrance can be a specific place or an individual building that opens up for a story about architecture but also about urban development, politics, economics, the history of ideas - everything that architecture is about. The entrance can also have a more overarching theme such as the tram city, the car city, the subcultures, the art or the children's city. Each entrance includes a couple of concluding pages with freer associative pictures and quotes and tips about places to eat, books and movies along the way. Maps complement a fuller picture of the city and the landscape that is its basis. The last two entrances are about the architects who planned and designed the city and about the more long-term plans for the future through a century. När boken skrivs har snart hundra år gått sedan Göteborgs 300-årsjubileum och guiden fokuserar på just detta tidsutsnitt: från 1921 fram till det kommande 400-årsjubileet. Mycket har förändrats under hundra år, men mycket finns också kvar. Guiden är upplagd med 20 ingångar till stadens platser och hus. Ingången kan vara en bestämd plats eller en enskild byggnad som öppnar för en berättelse om arkitektur men också om stadsutveckling, politik, ekonomi, idéhistoria - allt det som arkitektur handlar om.
