Eminent représentant suisse du post-impressionnisme du XXe siècle, Edouard Morerod (1879-1919) fit sa carrière entre Paris et l'Espagne. Après s'être engagé en poésie, le natif d'Aigle opte définitivement pour la peinture et le dessin où il s'illustre avec talent en tant que pastelliste. La figure humaine est au centre de ses préoccupations. Il trouve en Andalousie l'essentiel de ses sujets, mais aussi dans le Paris de la Belle-Epoque. Deux séjours au Maroc constitueront la part la plus orientale de son art. En Suisse, Morerod appartient aux collections des institutions suivantes : Musée cantonal des beaux-arts, Lausanne, Musée d'art de Pully, Musée d'art et d'histoire, Genève, Musée Jenisch Vevey, Musée d'art et d'histoire, Neuchâtel. Exhibition: Musée d'art de Pully, Switzerland (18. 05.-30.07. 2017).
