Aus dem eigenen Bestand stellt die Sammlung der Dr. Axe-Stiftung etwa 90 Genrebilder der Düsseldorfer Malerschule vor. Die Genremalerei, die "Kleinhistorie" des Alltags, nahm einen festen Platz im Lehrbetrieb der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie im 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert ein. Ihre wichtigsten Vertreter waren Johann Peter Hasenclever, Carl Wilhelm Hübner, Rudolf Jordan, Henry Ritter, Adolf Schrödter oder auch Charles Meer Webb, die in Ausstellung und begleitendem Katalog mit bemerkenswerten und zum Teil noch nie öffentlich gezeigten Werken präsentiert werden. Exhibition: Axe-Kunstkabinet, Kronenburg/Eifel, Germany (28.4.-21.10.2012).
