This first volume partially covers " The political history of Palestine, from B.C. 175 to A.D. 135," which is continued in the second volume (not included in this copy). From title page: "2nd and rev. ed. of a "Manual of the history of New Testament times." The author Emil Schürer was a German Protestant theologian who taught at universities in Germany and was widely known for this work.
