Description

Samuel May Jr. writes to William Lloyd Garrison on a spare page of a letter that he received from Ginery Twichell (from the Boston and Worcester Railroad). Twichell?s letter states that the company will grant special fares to all passengers on July 4rth. May says he will not reply to Twichell until the matter is discussed in a board meeting. He worries that such a reduced fee may ́somewhat diminish ́ their audience. (Written in Leicester, [Mass.], and signed on June 3 / [18]58.)
