Der zweite Teil des Buches analysiert die Gattungsgenese in der alt- und mittelassyrischen Periode unter Nutzung der Architexttheorie Gérard Genettes. Zwei detaillierte neuassyrische Fallstudien bilden den abschliessenden Teil der Arbeit.
