Dabei wird kurzerhand beides gleichgesetzt. Parteinahme für die Zionisten und Kritiklosigkeit gegenüber Israel gilt vielen als Wiedergutmachungspflicht. Erich Fried, nach dem deutschen Einmarsch in Wien 1938 selbst als Jude verfolgt, empfindet außer Solidarität mit allen unschuldig Verfolgten und Benachteilgten auch Mitverantwortlichkeit für das, was Juden in Israel den Palästinensern und anderen Arabern antun.
