Ausstellung und Katalog zeichnen die Genese der 'Sammlung Kirchhoff' über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahrzehnten von 1914 bis 1934 nach und führen damit anhand der von Kirchhoff geschätzten Maler die Entwicklung der deutschen Kunst vom Impressionismus (Corinth, Liebermann, Slevogt) über den facettenreichen Expressionismus (Chagall, Kokoschka, Lehmbruck, Macke, Marc) bis zur Abstraktion (Kandinsky, Moholy- Nagy) vor Augen. Am Ende wird anhand präziser ausgewählter Werke aus der ehemaligen Sammlung Kirchhoff klar, der vergessene 'Garten Kirchhoff' war deutschlandweit eines der wichtigsten Sammelbecken der Avantgarde in den 1920er Jahren.00Exhibition: Museum Wiesbaden, Germany (27.10.2017-24.02.2018).
