Description
Un médecin lutte pour sauver sa fille atteinte de leucémie. Cette maladie a sans doute été provoquée par une exposition au benzène, un produit chimique déversé par une usine à proximité du domicile de la famille. Ce médecin tente donc de faire fermer l'usine et se heurte à une grosse compagnie chimico-pharmaceutique qui d'un côté pollue sans vergogne et de l'autre finance un institut de recherche contre le cancer. Une vive dénonciation du pouvoir médico-industriel aux Etats-Unis. L'auteur (cf. "Coma" et "Vertiges") est chirurgien le jour et écrivain la nuit.
