Description
Erik V. Lind was from Skive and his life story is an exciting and optimistic testimony to creativity and versatility. Erik V. Lind is first and foremost known as the architect who designed democracy in Denmark. In the form of 300 dairies in this country- and one in Iceland. He was active in the years 1904-1956, when the Danish co-operative movement reached its peak. In addition to the dairies, he had an extensive construction of villas, hospitals, banks, factories and country estates. His work extended to most of Jutland. This book tells about the development and diversity of his buildings over half a century, and it also tells his life story and his multifaceted work as a family man, carpenter, hub and architect in Skive. The story of Erik V. Lind is also the story of a Denmark where the country's market towns, villages and station towns played a crucial dynamic role. Connected by a widely branched railway network were the growth centers that helped to emphasize that development was not just taking place in the big cities. We stand on the shoulders of this Denmark.
