Description
The central part of the CD is an Adobe Acrobat presentation (PDF format) on the Sun and space weather designed for teachers to give in the classroom (though individual students could also enjoy on a PC or Mac). There are three versions of the presentation: a high school version, a middle school version, and an elementary school version. Each contains between 40-60 slides, many of which present movies and animations. The goal is to educate, engage, and develop student interest in the Sun and its affects on Earth and enjoy learning about science topics. We do not stress facts and numbers, but hope to leave students with several overall concepts and the big picture. A good place to gain some background/overview kind of information about space weather is by reviewing the Space Weather poster that is linked to on the Start.pdf page. The five Tutorials of about 10-12 pages each of images and information expand on these related topics. They are independent of the presentations.
