Description
Met 'Soleil Politique' organiseert het M HKA de eerste overzichtstentoonstelling van de Belgische sleutelkunstenaar Marcel Broodthaers in zijn eigen land sinds een decennium. De voorbije jaren was het werk van Broodthaers te zien in een rondreizende tentoonstelling in topmusea, georganiseerd door het MoMA en Museo Reina Sofía. Het M HKA kiest er echter bewust voor om een eigen project te maken, zoals het dat eerder deed voor Joseph Beuys en James Lee Byars. 'Soleil Politique' focust op Marcel Broodthaers vanuit een Antwerps vertrekpunt met Wide White Space Gallery. De tentoonstelling wil een omvattend beeld geven van de breedte aan thematieken, media- en presentatiestrategieën van Broodthaers. Zo zal voor de eerste keer ooit zijn majestueuze 'Décor: A conquest by Marcel Broodthaers' (1975) in ons land te zien zijn, een meer dan genereuze bruikleen van de V?A?C Foundation uit Moskou.
