Description
Otto Dicke (1918-1984) leerde zichzelf tekenen en bereikte daarin een verbluffend niveau. De verworven inzichten van illustere voorgangers als Rembrandt, Daumier en de impressionisten, verwerkte hij in zijn persoonlijke stijl, zijn eigen schriftuur. Intens en betrokken verbeeldde hij een herkenbare wereld, trefzeker en kwetsbaar. De verbondenheid met zijn omgeving is even voelbaar in de vele landschappen, stads- en havengezichten, als in de portretten van volwassenen en kinderen die hij tekende. Zijn atelier in Pictura was de plaats waarnaar hij 35 jaar lang zou terugkeren na de talloze reizen en tekentochten met zijn collega.
