Description

A. Tate thanks William Lloyd Garrison for his letter of introduction to Garrison's "nombreux et puissants amis d'Angleterre" ("numerous and powerful English friends"), and informs Garrison that when he spoke to Garrison's sons concerning him, their discourse moved him to tears. Tate states that Garrison's sons did not attribute this to an overly feminine nature on his part ("un caractÞ̉‌re trop eff©♭min©♭"), but understood that this was due to his having just assisted with a celebration feting the passage of the 15th Amendment. Tate lauds Garrison's character and works, and informs him that he will be departing for Europe the following day.
